heArt swap for Valentines

Kara Jones aka Mother Henna is hosting a wonderful Artist Collaboration:
HeArt swap for Valentines.  I am one of the lucky 20 participants to be included in this art swap.

I have now finished my cards and will be mailing them tomorrow.  In the meantime, I thought I would give you a little look into my process for making the cards.

First, I sketched out designs and played with words to come up
with a Haiku poem about Divine Love.

I cut out cards, trimmed the corners and sprayed all of them
with a mist of Adirondack Color Wash in wild plum.

Next, I added some touches of beautiful Lumiere metallic gold and also
splashes of white.

As the paint was drying, I cut out hearts from Bristol Board and hand copied
the Haiku on each.  I used gold ink to outline and embellish each heart.
I attached the hearts to the mixed media cards, added gold ribbon, a
black background and gold inked the edges for the finishing touch.

The cards are signed, numbered, and dated.
Each is infused with Reiki and ready to be mailed tomorrow.

I hope you enjoyed this preview of the HeArt Swap for Valentines: An Artist Collaboration....
I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful works of art!
Blessings!
